For Linux/Unix/OS X, Polhemus offers an open-source sample called
"PiTerm."
PiTerm was written to target our Liberty and Patriot trackers, but
can very easily be adapted for FasTrak/Patriot Wireless/LATUS, as the command
interface for all of these trackers is similar.
More about PiTerm:
·
Developed in C++ on Linux
Fedora 18, kernel 3.79-205.fc18x86_64,
·
Tested only on Linux Ubuntu
12.10 x64 kernel 3.5.0-22-generic (64bit).
·
Graphical user interface
built with GTK+ 3.0 toolkit for X11-based desktop environments.
·
Works with RS-232 and USB.
·
Open-source app may be ported
to other flavors of Unix/OS X (with X11 installed). Note, Polhemus does not
guarantee ported software or port development support.
·
For the USB interface,
PiTerm uses the libusb open source C
library, which is also available for these platforms. (http://libusb.info) If you are using Linux,
chances are very good that your distribution already contains libusb.
